The Librarian  (Bass Coast / Lighta!)
Shhhhhhhh! Andrea Graham is known as the Librarian, but don't be fooled by her deceptively quiet composure. The Bass Coast Music Festival's co-founder and music curator has been making some very loud noises up and down the Pacific Northwest for the better part of a decade. Her knack for blending total dance floor destruction with sly subtleties and hot new exclusives makes for a consistently accessible, yet undeniably future sound. Indeed, her festival's carefully crafted music line-up is a perfect mirror of her style. Serving up a veritable who's who of the West Coast bass scene and reaching deep both backwards and forwards, The Librarian offers up unabashedly hard-hitting low-end bliss paired with thoughtful, sophisticated chops.
In addition to curating and co-producing Bass Coast since its 2009 inauguration, Andrea has toured the Pacific Northwest club & festival circuit extensively (Shambhala, Symbiosis, Rifflandia, Envision, Meme,Tall Tree, Burning Man, Sync, Envision, World Ski & Snowboarding Festival, and more), and has performed as far as Costa Rica and midwest to Winnipeg & Wyoming. She has played alongside Pinch, J Kenzo, dBridge, UZ, Bauer, Dub FX, Silkie, Distance, Addison Groove, Machinedrum, Om Unit, Grenier, Kastle, TRUTH, Deadbeat, Marty Party, Excision, Zed’s Dead, Mimosa, Vibesquad, Ana Sia, Danny Corn, Reso, Rusko, Caspa, Appleblim, 2562, Stagga, Djunya, BSE, Kutz, & many more.

Daega Sound (Lighta!)
Daega Sound have their own unique take on dubstep and dance music. Driven by their lifelong love of music, Ben and Josh Searles have laid a steady foundation of releases and performances that has gained them national and international notoriety in the ever evolving bass music scene. Their sound is polished and sophisticated, with a dubbed out quality and heavy emphasis on sub bass. Intricate syncopated drum rhythms laced with unforgettable melodies sit atop layers of ethereal soundscapes that culminate in an unmistakable atmosphere. Their works have a definitive place in every DJs record crate, and make for excellent listening music at home. Since their first release in 2008 and debut performance at that year’s New Forms Festival, Daega Sound have now completed now has over two dozen tunes, many available on 12-inch vinyl or digital as released on various national and international labels such as Echodub, Mutek Records and Formant. These have received DJ support from notables such as Loxy, RSD, Appleblim, Spherix, OM Unit, Truth, Phaeleh, Walsh, DJG, Headhunter, and local heavy hitters Taal Mala, Michael Red, The Librarian, Max Ulis and more. Mary Anne Hobbs and Mr Scruff have both aired Daega’s works on BBC Radio 1, and they also have received regular play on RinseFM, SubFM, KissFM by Bunzer0, Distance, DJ Chef, and host of DJs on Canadian radio shows. Daega Sound are not just known for their sophisticated bass production, but also for their heavy hitting live PA and DJ performances. Their DJ sets present a mix of their own works alongside those from a select few producers. Their high energy sets have a distinct techno quality meshed with a “classic” dubstep sound, ranging from banging drum machine driven rhythms to massive halftime hitters to rich evocative and soulful tunes. Being brothers and somehow seeming to know what each other is thinking, they each man a deck and relentlessly bang out the tunes in long curving mixes or crazy stop cuts drawing from over a decade of DJing techno and DnB. Daega Sound always deliver a remarkable performance guaranteed to bring the house down in a unique and unforgettable way. The brothers’ live PA sets have to be experienced to believe. Playing all their original works on a new platform of iPads and computers with some outboard gear, Daega has the freedom to take audiences to the far off dimensions of music from whence they hail. Blending in their newest half time DnB bits with their already well known dubstep beats, these sets are inspirational and danceable. With memorable live PA and DJ sets at stalwart Canadian festivals such as Mutek, New Forms Festival, Shambhala and Bass Coast, they have gone on to perform internationally, including Dubloaded, Pinch’s cutting edge bass music monthly in Bristol, UK.
“…there’s something profoundly psychedelic and experimental about their sound design. It’s that push-and-pull between idol worship and futurism that defines Vancouver’s bustling electronic music scene, and the first release on Daega’s brand new Fathom imprint could hardly be a better example.” – Andrew Ryce, RA (3.5/5)

Myles Away (Smokey Crow / Really Good / Integrated Grime Unit)

Myles Away has been right in the middle of Vancouver's bustling underground bass music scene since his first false-o-ween at the Dollhouse back in 2008. Quickly transferring his musical abilities from his experimental industrial days in Cali to the sounds of Glitch Hop, him and the Integrated Grime Unit held down their quadrant of sound in Van for a few solid years. But Myles continued to evolve, he casually melted into the Dubstep movement, and in the last few years opened up to Drum and Bass, House, and has become pretty much a genre genie ... your wish is his command.
The most consistent element has always been his passion (and of course his fingerless gloves and that hair). When he lays down any set at any show, there's no question that he really brings his all, and it's not uncommon for some web-chatter the next day about having hurt his neck from getting a little to enthusiastic.
Plus we can't forget his fairly recent endeavour Smokey Crow Records, a donation based electronic music label he started with NOG (from Moontricks) which is pushing an ever growing roster of upcoming talent:

BPMackie (Caturday Crew / Biznarnival)

BPM.ackie represents the combination of contrasting sounds; Take a journey across the spectrum of style, from funky glitch hop, to midtempo swing to psychedelic triphop. Beats are blasted out, cut, warped and spun, bringing you off your axis and landing you back down on that raunchy downbeat. Foul electronic beats combined with dreamy effects weave a sonic tapestry, giving you the sound of the city and the low down grit of some nasty funky places unspeakable. - See more at: http://www.caturdaycrew.org/djs/bpmackie/#sthash.PClQk1y5.dpuf
